Shanghai French School Student Wins National First Prize

Shanghai French School Student Wins National First Prize

Every year, the renowned “Concours Général” brings together the top high school students from France and French schools abroad. In 2025, we are thrilled to announce that Eden Liang, a graduating senior at Shanghai French School, has won the First Prize in Chinese!

This prestigious competition celebrates academic excellence across a wide range of subjects, from classical languages and literature to sciences and modern languages. Eden’s achievement is a remarkable recognition of her talent and dedication, and of the support from her teachers, whom we warmly congratulate.

As Eden steps into the next chapter of her academic journey, we asked her a few questions about her future:

  1. Where are you headed for higher education, and why did you choose this path?

I’m staying in China for my higher education, specifically at Beijing Central School (ECPk), where I’ll specialize in mechanical engineering. I chose this school because I want to continue my studies in China a little longer while pursuing engineering. At the same time, I’d like the option to return to France for a few years, and ECPk offers this through its dual-degree program in partnership with Beihang University and the Centrale group.

2. How did your experience at LFS shape this decision?

Since I joined LFS in 4th grade (CM1), I have been enrolled in the Chinese International Section. I am very committed to maintaining this dual culture (French and Chinese) I acquired there, which is why I chose ECPk, a French curriculum within a Chinese university.

3. What excites you most about this new adventure?

I’m excited to discover a new city, the capital of China, and to start my new student life. The Franco-Chinese education really appeals to me, and I see this new adventure as a continuation of my experience at Shanghai French School. I would also like to thank all the teachers and staff at LFS for all the wonderful years spent on campus.

Eden is not alone in making us proud this year. Three other students from Shanghai French School also earned honors, with two receiving runner-up prizes and one receiving a special mention.

Their success reflects not only their hard work and dedication but also the guidance of our teachers and the spirit of excellence that defines our school community.
