Openness, tolerance and solidarity: since 1996, the Shanghai French School (LFS) and the German School Shanghai (DSS) have shared not only two Eurocampuses, but also a set of common values. The campuses welcome students from more than 60 nationalities and offer the very best of European education in Shanghai, as illustrated by the opening of the second Eurocampus in the Yangpu District.
Since 1996, Shanghai French School (LFS) and German School Shanghai (DSS) have shared more than two campuses — they have shared a vision.
Built on openness, tolerance and solidarity, Eurocampus is a unique Franco-German educational partnership in China. It brings together two schools, two education systems and one shared ambition: offering a high-quality European education in Shanghai while fully respecting the identity of each institution.
Today, Eurocampus welcomes students from more than 60 nationalities, from early childhood to the end of secondary education, and has become a key actor of Shanghai’s international education landscape.
The story of Eurocampus began in 1996, when the Shanghai French School was invited by the German School Shanghai to share its premises and Chinese authorisations. What started with 23 French students quickly grew into a sustainable educational model based on cooperation and mutual trust.
This history is not only about buildings, but about people growing together across cultures, languages and educational systems.
Eurocampus is built on a simple yet powerful idea: coexistence rather than merger. Each school preserves its educational identity while sharing:
The Yangpu campus, in particular, embodies this philosophy through its architecture: two schools connected by a shared central space designed to encourage dialogue, encounters and collaboration.
Eurocampus is experienced daily through concrete human interactions:
Eurocampus is a living example of European cooperation in action, rooted in everyday school life.
In a highly competitive international education environment, Eurocampus offers a distinctive model:
Eurocampus is not symbolic Europe — it is lived, practical and human Europe, in Shanghai.
The 30th anniversary of Eurocampus is:
Eurocampus continues to grow, innovate and welcome new cultural horizons — staying faithful to the values that have guided it since 1996.
