World Book Day: changing lives, one book at a time

World Book Day: changing lives, one book at a time

With the mission to promote reading for pleasure and encourage it to become a life-long habit for children around the world, this celebration created by UNESCO in 1995 occurs in over 100 countries every year. To mark this year’s edition, our French, English and Chinese teachers, together with our Librarians worked on several exhibitions, as well as participative and decorative activities.

Reading and learning should be fun, and inspiring. Our piazza and corridors filled up with books insights and recommendations, books from our childhood, and book-inspired door decorations. Students and team members were invited to actively participate in these actions.

To celebrate unity around reading, both our school and our colleagues from the Deutsche Schule Shanghai joined in several of these exhibitions!
