President of the Board of Shanghai French School, Philippe Snel was honoured with the National Order of Merit on Sunday, May 9.

President of the Board of Shanghai French School, Philippe Snel was honoured with the National Order of Merit on Sunday, May 9.

Awarded by the Consul General of France in Shanghai, Mr. Benoît Guidée, this distinction honours his commitment and part in the service of the French community in Shanghai. The ceremony was held in a small group on Yangpu campus, due to the current health regulations.

Legal expert and Managing Director of Da Wo Law Firm, Philippe Snel has been living in Shanghai for over 15 years. He acts as a legal advisor to institutions and business agencies, and regularly takes part in issues related to Sino-European trade relations.

Philippe Snel is the father of three sons who all graduated from Shanghai French School, and a daughter who is currently in 4th Grade in Qingpu. He has been President of the Board for 5 years, and has been working alongside the other Board members, putting all his energy and personal qualities at the service of the school development and positioning as an international and multicultural school, open to all communities, and carrying the best of the French education system.

Member of the Euroboard, the Franco-German management body of our Eurocampuses, Philippe Snel worked on the creation of the new Yangpu Eurocampus shared with the German school, which opened in September 2019.
